Air Curtains

Description and Principle of Operation

The main function of an air curtain is to prevent cold outside air from entering the room. For this purpose, mixing or shut-off type air curtains are used.

Mixing curtains only dilute the cold air flow with warm air, bringing it to the required temperature.

Shut-off curtains create strong resistance to the penetration of outside air through the impact of air jets directed at an angle to the opening surface.

Energy Efficiency

Air curtains are the most important energy-saving element of engineering structures.

Curtains create a barrier against the penetration of cold air in winter, hot air in summer, as well as dust and gases. Heat losses of premises are significantly reduced when opening doors and gates (up to 70%).

Types of Air Curtains

With and Without Heating

With heating: for protection of heated premises. Deliver heated air to cut off cold.

Without heating: for protection of cold rooms or air-conditioned premises, as well as for the summer period.

Electric and Water

Electric: with silver or ceramic heating elements. Simple installation.

Water: use hot water (60-90°C). Require pipe installation, but are more economical in operation.

Regulation and Control

For year-round application, air curtains with heating are installed. If necessary, the heating power can be adjusted or completely turned off using automation.

In water curtains, to increase regulation smoothness and energy efficiency, it is recommended to use mixing units.
